Young people, as the present actors and future decision-makers in their societies, need to be better informed about global environmental issues and use their intrinsic creativity and energy to contribute to transforming their societies. Young people will play a key role in the transition toward a life-sustaining society, and youth workers can be the facilitators of this process. In this sense, our aim is to prepare youth workers to inform, inspire, motivate and engage young people in environmental active citizenship.
GREEN FOOTPRINTS will gather young people from 8 countries: they will work together for the improvement of the environment in our world. They will have spaces to discuss together the general problems that affect our environment and the possible solutions to tackle them. They will work on various methods of promoting sustainable lifestyle. The national groups will prepare presentations about waste management situation in their country, ways to tackle pollution, organising workshops to raise awareness of other young people some creative way of dealing with the issues

Participating in the Green Footprints youth exchange was a beautiful experience. In fact, I was able to meet people from different parts of the world and exchange beautiful moments with them, whilst learning more about their culture. Moreover, I gained a better understanding about sustainability, particularly is was very interesting to listen to other’s perception of what is sustainability and the different problems that affect their countries. Thanks to this experience, I began to question more about my impact on the world and seek ways to improve my own footprints.

Between the dates 23-28 May 2022, I participated in the Green Footprints project in Kemer, Antalya as a part of the Turkish team. As approximately 40 participants from 8 different countries in the project, we carried out activities aimed at recycling, reuse and environmental protection. In this project, we talked about environmental problems in countries and carried out activities to find solutions to them. I was familiar with the topics as I had previously been involved in an ESC volunteering project for environmental protection. The activities were both fun and educational. During the project, I think that I experienced the cultural exchange, which is the main purpose of Erasmus projects, both with cultural nights and cultural conversations. I would like to thank GFD for giving me the opportunity to participate in this project. I end my words with a sentence that I will never stop saying: Once Erasmus, always Erasmus! :)
